These aren't anything special, but I'm dying to post something while I try to make up my mind about what to do about getting my transparencies into the computer.
All taken with a Kodak DX3500, but I've not figured out how to do my edits in Photoshop without destroying the EXIF. :confused:

I think we must also emphasise the point that all of us have to pass strict labor market tests supervised by DOL to be even eligible for green cards (and many of us have already passed that). That will blunt the rhetoric from the anti-immigrants and their attempts to obfuscate our issue with the illegal aliens. The tend to make americans believe that applying for a green card is just like applying for a drivers license and just about anyone is eligible.
The only other thing I think should be stressed is that we are already H1-b holders, already applied for green cards, so not taking any more jobs away from USCs. All we are asking for is expedited processing of our already filed applications.
Then Numbersusa or other anti-immigration groups have no points to raise against us

My 140 got approved and 485 is in pending state.I have my EAD and also valid H1.
1.Can I add my spouse to my GC status when PD is not current?My spouse is on H1B visa.
2.If I start using EAD, is it still possible to add spouse or I should maintain valid H1 status?

My mother-in-law is on a visitor visa. She is supposed to go to india in 10 days. But she had a medical emergency and had a surgery this week. She cannot travel to india right now, as she needs rest after surgery. Can we apply visitor visa extension on medical grounds or is it safe to apply for extension on tourism/visiting grounds, Please advise.

Hi there,
I changed my address using the online facility provided by USCIS by filling out the AR-11 form. I got the confirmation for that. After that when I started to change for pending petitions (I-485), lost my internet connection. I could not go back to that part again.
I checked all the FAQ's etc but could not find a link that would explain how to change only the pending petitions, since AR-11 was already changed.
Please let me know if anybody was in the similar situation.

I have my EAD till Mid of August 2010 and my AP expired on November 2009. I read from forums that AP is not need if we are not going to travel out of USA. Even my friends said the same, so I did not renew my AP so far. Will an expired AP invalidated my status when I am staying in USA and not planing to travel within next 8 months?
Since I am on my 1-485 status and my husband got Green card I believe that I am in status. But just wanted to confirm again for assurance and for piece of mind. Any way I am planing to apply for AP in next few weeks.

Ah, the magical E-Verify solution. If we just required it for everything from getting a job to applying for any kind of government benefit and now qualifying for a mortgage, all would be right with America. How will you do that? I guess, while working on cases, user has to click somewhere to send an email. If they choose not to, then there will be no email. In my case, I never saw consistency in getting emails. I don't think that is a big issue, just check your status periodically. Bigger and important issue is how to get your case processed faster, and in sequence.

I got appointment letter for Biometrics from USCIS. I already gave in 2007.
Why are they asking again? and I only got this, my husband and son didn't get it.
Right now I am on EAD, since last december(2009) I am not working, will there be any issues as I am the primary applicant.

Nothing to worry, go ahead and give your biometrics, my friend did it twice. If you want more clarification to sleep better, take infopass and get things clarified

I mean stay on L1A (7 Year) with existing company. Apply green card through company B OR any other (For applying grren card, you don't need to be employee of that firm). Switch job as soon as you get I140 (premium process) approved from B company. If everything goes well, One year is enough to get I140 approval through premium process.

I have received an RFE on my I-485 application to provide a copy of birth certificate. However, I have submitted the birth certificate and affidavits from my parents when I filed for I-485.
I am from India. Since the name is put after few months of birth, my name is not present in the birth certificate. I am not sure if the RFE is due to this. But all the (or most) people from India would be in the same zone, right (not having name in birth certificate) ?
Is anyone in the same situation as me ? What kind of documents have you submitted for the birth certificate requirement ?
