The intent is to keep the issue of immigration alive till the elections so that there is a chance for any Immigration bill after elections. There are several other pressing issues faced by the nation and Immigration is just one of them. It may not be #1 priority now. The lameduck is very important if something needs to be done on Immigration. The results of Nov elections will also influence what kind of Immigration reform is possible. I was on my way today for the drive in Cincinnati with 3 others and called them on my way when they informed us that they had an overwhelming response yesterday and are out of kits. They said they will be back the coming weekend and again. I am praying that he gets the donor ASAP. Hoping for the best.

Read carefully. It says 'However, there is an exception for people in H, L, K or V'. You are not on H1 right. That condition won't applicable for you.
I have an expired H1 VISA stamp, but an approved h1 i797 form approved till 2013, but I am using my EAD to work.
Assuming that, are you saying that I can go to a consulate, get a h1 stamp and reenter on h1 ? and by doing so I WILL NOT jeopardize my AOS?

Just spoke with a TSC IO. She was a pretty nice lady and answered all my questions. Apparently, mine and my spouse's AP were approved on 10/17/2007. We still didn't receive the APs. The online status still shows pending. I believe my attorney may receive the AP docs.
I've asked her about my Name Check and Fingerprint. According to her my name check was initiated on 8/9/2007 and it is pending. My FBI fingerprint check came back on 9/10/2007.

How about getting your face changed. That will probably be easier and faster than ask USCIS to fix it mistake. What a great organization!

As many of you assured me, the date on the I-94 reflected the date on my I-797 (I received a B, not an A). It did not have anything to do with my passport expiration date as I was fearing. Thanks everyone!

How long the process took before filing? How much time for PWD alone?
It took almost 6 months.....But typically it only requires around 3-4 months (considering PWD response in 1-2 weeks)....My PWD was filed in the first week of Jan and it took about 3 weeks to get a response back it seems, though I am not aware of the exact dates as I was not involved in this whole process. I only came to know about it due to my frequent emails to my manager and attorney asking for status..:-)......Mine is a large corporation (400k+ employees) so things move really slow process wise....I felt from start to filing of PERM, it should take about 4 months max...But it really depends on the number of resumes received and the time taken to screen them....If candidates are found who have to be interviewed, it could take a little more time....

I did the same this one month back. All you have to do is the letter to USCIS telling them that your attorney will not represent your case in future and please mail all the communication directly to my registered home address.
Send this letter to address mentioned in I-797 Notice of Reciept of I-485 with acknowledgement return address card.
Look for my previous post related to this and you will find the sample letter as well.

Part time worker but a full time student - all on a part time H1 visa? I have talked to one lawyer and a couple of admissions officers. They all say that it should be OK (but they are not crazy about it) but I want to talk to someone that actually did it.

I've Just Started Photo Classes A Couple Of Months Ago...i Just Wanna Buy Something That I Can Afford Now Just To Get Used To The Idea...i Was Looking For Those Sony Cybershot... I Really Don't Know How They Work..but They're Cheap I Think, Then I Went To Nikon's And Saw More Powerful Cameras At 3times The Price Of A Cybershot..!!!! Would U Recommend A Sony? I'll Obviuosly Buy A Better One On Time, When I Get More Professional =)
