Anybody has numbers for No. of EB Visas processed for June ad July 08. Till May 08 total 113475 has been processed. So, total remaining would be 50000.
Aug. 08 somewehere 6000 were processed.

They also pay very less salary charging less billing with clients compared to the open market. But being a fresher in USA , getting trained , getting into a project , all these are individual hardwork and ofcourse more money.Once you are on client side you may not have much support as Satyam, TCS, WIPRO guys has. you can not say that u r a fresher and client expectation would be more since they pay high billing .

Yes that is true. Impact for US companies are minimal and in fact good for US companies and more disadvantage for Indian companies. Mainly those who are running just by H1b persons will have tough time. Actually many small US consulting companies went out of business because they were not able to compete with Indian companies because of H1B.

I am amazed to see these new born baby members cropping up these days from nowwhere questioning IV. No wonder we are popular and feared by anti immigrants. I understand your frustration, but the rules are the same for everybody, and if India sends more immigrants to the US then any other country, that\\\'s not the US Government\'s fault.
If there were not per country limits, Indians would consume all those EB visas visas leaving no chance to the applicants from other countries to immigrate to the US legally.

Both 1A and 2A category for Family Based (sons, daughters, spouse - of citizens and green card holders) has better dates (15th Aug 02, 15th Aug 2004) than EB-2 India, and EB-3 India.
This is so preposterous, words cannot even begin to describe this absurdity.
So those of us who have been in U.S. for almost a decade, have been contributing to this society, and have held our life in constant limbo, are being given a lower priority than those who are still back in their own country and living a happy life and who can now immigrate to U.S. based on family immigration.
Do the lawmakers have no common sense left atall??
Check my threads on Citizenship. Ask for citizenship directly if you are living here for more than a decade...

Its kind of a funny situation, and dangerous at the same time. This is a setup for a perfect storm and these idiot "friends" are planning for sunny days ahead. I guess someone forgot to turn on the weather channel, which in this situation is equivalent to "using common sense".
I am sorry to say this but all these "friends" are actually not your friends. Its better to have a wise foe than foolish friends.
Intelligence is about matching the dots and foresee the coming events, which always tend to cast their shadow before they appear. Idiots tend to overlook the dots, and they continue to live in fools paradise. The problem is not the formation of a perfect storm, the problem is most of these "friends" will be caught off-guard, and the ship will take everyone down with them. I wish I knew of a better way to desrcibe the current situation.

Economy and job losses - this economy will not spare anyone and one has to be ready for ac21 and ex employer revocation and uscis officer sending denial and filing mtr than celebrating based on thoughts that Obama will give a green card.
Someone suggests - ahh I got EAD so I will get Green card soon, someone suggests I got finger print so I will get Green card soon.
I have seen people saying "My employer loves me and will never fire me - he invited me to play golf with him yesterday".
For those who keep saying "I will go back to my home country" - just look at the other side of the window - there are tons who want to jump this side.

No one asked anyone to come to this country. But when we came here few years back, we were told that there are set of procedures in place to get green card. Congress never intended to make people for 10 years to get their green cards. So no one asked us that wait for 10 years either. But we paid taxes for all those 10 years. And my tax $$$, government has decided to bailout banks telling them not to hire me. Again, no one asked me how they will spend my tax $$$ just like no one asked me to come to this country.
Sense of entitlement comes from sense of connection and sense of what we deserve. I am entitled to permanent residency because my wife and I have paid around 1/2 million in taxes in last 10 years, more than 99% of "ALL AMERICAN" FAMILIES. So don't tell us what we are entitled and what we are not entitled for, because that's ridiculous.

This is what I felt. When folks from CA could turn out in such a big number, what stopped DC Metro area and NYC/NJ Area folks to come? Perhaps they do not deserve Capital so close to them. What else it is for? To take their friends and relatives there for photo taking? This is what I felt.
Over all, one of the most fulfilling three days of my life. I learnt what is law making in this country and how things work.
Skeptists, IV is moving in the right direction. If inertia of rest is making you go slow, then allow this thread to push yourselves. We are legally supporting your cause. Least you can do is, join the cause and contribute.

it is very easy to say - support CIR and get our ammendments attached to CIR...we were not even able to put forth our ammdmt on the floor last time around....It is not as easy as 1-2-3 ...
