..and then:

Are you telling me they haven't processed any EB3-ROW 485 during all those months? Why does it go all the way back to Aug-02???

Well, First let me tell you that nothing in USCIS makes any sense.
Cominig to the reasoning behind it, it could be that they did not have enough 'approvable' cases with PDs before Aug'02 to exhaust the annual quota(stuck in name check FP check etc), so they moved the dates forward. They approved some cases that felll within the new dates.
Now after approving some newly current cases, only a few visas are left with them. Also, by this time, some of the older cases, which were stuck earlier got out of whatever check they were stuck in...
As a result, now they don't have enough visas available to approve any cases after the PD of Aug'02.
Anything is possible here dear !

You are absolutely right about rippling effect. I personally know someone, yet to graduate, yet to get OPT also, but got trained in ETL/Datawarehousing before graduation, got a job thr' desi shop as a H1 consultant with 6 years experience. I was really shocked to see the level to which people can lie. I am sure their lies won't stand in critical work situations when REAL exp. is warrented. But the damage is already done.

I'm getting confused on the date part after reading various posts.
Is it mandatory to wait for 180 days after I140 to port your PD from an old I140 to a new I140(with a different company) ?
To change jobs and continue the same GC process I believe one has to complete at-least 1180 days in I485 stage. However in this stage the new job title and responsibilities should be same
I guess Employer cannot revoke I-140 after 180 days - You may want to check with Immigration Specialist/lawyer

Guys I have a basic question if filing for 140 and 485 concurently is rule that uscis can change.. why cant they change a rule to file for EAD and AP after 140 is approved. Since these two are seperate all together from 485 anyway, all we need is filing these two. and 485 can filed when numbers are available.

In case of a dependant 485 there is no requirement to be paid on EAD.
For AOS status, there is no requirement for person to be paid on EAD. It does not matter whether I-485 is for primary or dependent beneficiary.

Its kind of a funny situation, and dangerous at the same time. This is a setup for a perfect storm and these idiot "friends" are planning for sunny days ahead. I guess someone forgot to turn on the weather channel, which in this situation is equivalent to "using common sense".
I am sorry to say this but all these "friends" are actually not your friends. Its better to have a wise foe than foolish friends.
Intelligence is about matching the dots and foresee the coming events, which always tend to cast their shadow before they appear. Idiots tend to overlook the dots, and they continue to live in fools paradise. The problem is not the formation of a perfect storm, the problem is most of these "friends" will be caught off-guard, and the ship will take everyone down with them. Here is the issue: If you are thinking of doing MBA to get a management job in a US company and are an Indian, please forget it. You might get a low level management position paying at most 80K. MBA is not for everyone - you have to have it in you to get something out of an MBA. It's not about landing that good job. You hear about the 1 crore offers that IIM students get from top American companies? Well, they are kicked out of the job in 1 year and then join Infosys or Wipro. Not because they are not brilliant but because their conversational skills are terrible and so is their language. Unless you are planning to settle in India OR REALLY THINKING OF PUTTING A LOT OF EFFORT in mastering the English language and your outlook, an MBA is not going to serve you in the US.

am still unclear. Does it mean those who have PD prior to Jun 06 will get their GC? I cant believe it.
At the personal end, I have my GC filed with Dec 06 PD. However, I have a previous I140 approved with Sept 05. I was thinking about porting the priority date. If I port it now will I get my GC based on the previous priority date?
Ofcourse I dont intend to port it at this point of time because am planning to get married in another 3-4months. so can you guys let me know what would be the best approach. Is it porting the previous priority date now or wait till getting married and then port it? In such case will the spouse be eligible to file for 485 when it is current. am confused.

After responding to the RFE last week, I have been seeing continous LUDs on my 485. They were on 10/8, 10/9 and today on columbus day 10/11. There was also one when they registered my RFE response on 10/6.
And to add to that I received a FP notice for both spouse and myself but the date isn't until after 3 weeks. Can I get the FP done early? I don't want them to sit on my application for another 3 weeks just because they are waiting for my FP.
